My daughter, Ruth, and I made this Woody cake for a customer this weekend. Everything is edible except the hat and Woody.
All three layers are frosted with buttercream. We used fondant for the cow print, rope, belt & buckle and the star.
Hope you had a Happy 3rd Birthday, Conner!!
This cake is really great. I love it. There are not a lot of good Toy Story cakes out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment, Shawna! This is my most looked at cake right now! I did a smaller Toy Story cake with a big #1 cookie on top in January of this year.
ReplyDeletemy son is wanting a woody cake for his 3rd bday....is this cake really hard to make..i have NEVER done it before, please email me back at ashhendrickson@carolina.rr.com if you could...thanks sooo much!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this cake and I'm going to try to make it for my son next week for his 3rd birthday. This is all new to me, but I am tired of paying people to make me cakes that fall apart before I serve them. : ( Any tips?
ReplyDeleteJust allow yourself plenty of time, and do all your fondant add-ons ahead of time! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI am going to try this cake for my grandsons 2nd birthday this weekend. I have made a lot of cakes but I am certainly not a professional. My daughter is doubting me but I think this looks easy. Is it? It sure us sharp.
ReplyDeleteKarla
Hi Karla, Thanks for stopping by! It's not a hard cake. Basically just your normal 3 tier cake with details!! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteTricia, can you tell me what size pans you used? Also are they single layer pans doubled?
ReplyDeletekarla
Hi Karla, I used 6", 8" and 10" pans. All three tiers are two layers.
ReplyDeleteHi, I wanted to know if you could please tell me how did you do your bandana cake board?
ReplyDeleteHi Annette,
ReplyDeleteI used a new bandana and stapled it to a wood cake board.
